These Gifts are available under special circumstances, usually only with specific Storyteller approval. They are not common knowledge among most Garou.
This page covers a variety of obscure Gifts that do not fall under the usual Tribe/Breed/Auspice categories, or which are anachronisms (such as Dark Ages or Wild West gifts). These Gifts are not usually available to player characters except in specific circumstances with Storyteller involvement and character effort, and they are not common knowledge to most Garou.
Basic Gifts
Assess Character
Activation Time: Normal
Required: This gift is granted only to the followers of Saktir (C.C. Usually a spirit charm)
Challenge: Mental vs Target
Retest: Empathy
Follow-up Cost: 0 - 5 Mental Traits
Effect: This gift allows the Garou to evaluate the general strength of an individual. By succeeding in a Mental Challenge versus the target, he may learn the maximum that character is capable of bidding in a single trait (Physical, Social, or Mental) or temper (Rage, Gnosis, or Will) category (This would include any gifts, talens, or fetishes that augment those traits, that are currently active). By expending additional Mental Traits the user may learn the maximum traits of additional categories.
Hide the Wolf
Activation Time: Personal
Required: This is a gift taught only by spirits favorable to Ronin Garou.
Activation Cost: One Gnosis
Effect: For the duration of the gift, you hide all signs of your Rage -- which suppresses the Curse that affects you in the presence of ordinary humans and wolves. (This Gift will not suppress the Delirium.)
Duration: One scene, or until you spend Rage or shapeshift, whichever comes first.
Moonstruck Path
Activation Time: Unique - 10 minutes of concentration.
Required: This gift is known to the Croatan, but it is virtually lost.
Activation Cost: One Gnosis
Effect: Every journey begins with a single step -- and sometimes that step is guided by Luna. A beam of moonlight appears to show you the way to the beginning of the correct path for your situation.
Duration: One scene
Stone Mask
Activation Time: Personal
Required: Stone Mask is a gift granted only to followers of the War Totem Granite.
Challenge: Static Social vs 12 Traits
Retest: Subterfuge
Effect: Your thoughts become as opaque as solid stone. This gift hides your thoughts from anyone trying to read your mind or determine your true nature -- for example, Dreamspeak, Mindspeak, Scent of the True Form, or vampiric Telepathy. Gifts like Truth of Gaia that measure your words are not affected.
Duration: One scene or hour
Intermediate Gifts
Sever the Binding
Activation Time: Normal
Required: Sever the Binding is a gift granted only to followers of the Respect Totem Anubis.
Activation Cost: One Willpower
Challenge: Social vs. the ghost
Retest: Occult
Effect: You break the bond between a ghost and one of its fetters. Peaceful ghosts are able to move on in this way, however violent ghosts such as Wraiths may still pose a threat, as this method of unbinding a fetter does not cause a Harrowing, even if you remove the last fetter connection from the Wraith.
Advanced Gifts
False Comfort
Activation Time: Normal
To Learn: Must find an Ancestor-Spirit old enough to remember the times before humans built cities
Activation Cost: One Gnosis
Follow-up Cost: 0-5 Gnosis Traits
Effect: While this gift is in effect, the Garou may choose to be unaffected by any human technology that he chooses to be. The Garou can see, walk, or reach through anything crafted by humans, including walls, mundane armor, and clothing. While unaffected by a chosen technology, the Garou may not use that technology himself (e.g. if he chooses to ignore mundane armor, any mundane armor he wears will pass through his body and fall to the ground).
Duration: One turn, plus one turn per Gnosis Trait spent.
