Ahadi Gifts

These Gifts are available to characters that have joined the Ahadi, an alliance of changing breeds. (This requires interaction with and approval from the Changing Breeds Coordinator)

Basic Gifts

Anansi's Guile

Per Galliard Gift: Beast Speech

Activation Time: Normal

Challenge: Social vs. the animal

Retest: Animal Ken

Effect: You are able to speak with any sort of animal. If successful, you can speak not only to the target animal, but to all animals of the same type. This gift doesn't change their natures nor their reactions to the predatory nature of the Garou, nor does it force them to cooperate.

Duration: One Scene or Hour

Blood Webs

Activation Time: Personal, then reflexive (see write-up)

Activation Cost: One Willpower

Effect: The shapeshifter enchants their blood to become a sticky mass when spilled, entangling their foes. For the remainder of the scene any opponent who inflicts skin armor or health level damage must immediately make a static physical challenge (difficulty of the Ahadi’s physicals, retest Brawl), failure causes them to gain a Clumsy negative trait for the remainder of the scene as they are covered in webbing (cap of 5). The webbing can be removed with a static Physical Challenge (retest Athletics) vs 10 traits.

Duration: One scene or hour

Dragon Musk

Activation Time: Normal

Activation Cost: One Willpower

Effect: The shapeshifter emits a sulfurous, eye-searing stench visible as a yellowish cloud rolling off of their body. All individuals, except for the individuals pack, within an area of (Rank x 5) yards suffer a two-trait penalty on all perception and stamina-related challenges (including soaking). While active, pack members gain a two-trait bonus to locate their packmate by any means.

Duration: One scene or hour

Fury Jaws

Activation Time: Normal

Activation Cost: One Rage

Challenge: Physical vs Target

Retest: Brawl

Effect: Using this gift the Ahadi infuses their bite with an infuriating itch and desire to attack them. On a successful activation, the Ahadi deals their normal bite damage and causes the target to take a 3-trait penalty on any action other than attacking the Ahadi.

Duration: One round plus one for each rank of the user

Impenetrable Veil

Activation Time: Normal

Challenge: Static Social vs 12 traits

Retest: Primal Urge

Follow-up Cost: 1-5 Social Traits

Effect: This gift deepens the effects of the Delirium, causing all purely human observers who fall victim to the Delirium’s effects to respond as though their Willpower was one lower for each social trait spent at activation.

Duration: One scene or hour

Ogun’s Blessing

Activation Time: Personal

Activation Cost: One Willpower

Effect: Blessed by the spirits of War and Metal this gift provides the Ahadi with a one trait bonus on all challenges to use metal or mostly-metal objects for the purposes of war. This can be anything from shooting a gun, driving a car to chase a foe, or using a lockpick to break into an enemy’s dwelling.

Duration: One scene or hour

River’s Bosom

Activation Time: Personal

Activation Cost: One Gnosis

Follow-up Cost: 1-5 Mentals (Optional)

Effect: Once completely submerged in liquid of any sort, the character becomes invisible. This invisibility lasts as long as they remain perfectly still. If the character spent for the follow-up cost, they may move for a number of rounds equal to the number of traits spent without ending the gift. Any attacks immediately end the gift.

Duration: One scene or hour

Sense Wyrm

Activation Time: Personal

Challenge: Mental vs. Storyteller difficulty based on intensity of Wyrm influence (high intensity is low difficulty, low intensity is high difficulty)

Retest: Occult or Investigation

Effect: A mystical sense not unlike a scent tells you whether the Wyrm has corrupted anything in the area. This "Wyrm-Taint" may mean there is an enemy nearby, or it may simply mean that an innocent bystander ate Wyrm-manufactured food or works at a spite-filled office.

Spirit of the Fish

Activation Time: Personal

Activation Cost: One Gnosis

Follow-up Cost: 0-5 Mental Traits

Effect: Uktena is a water-god, and this gift extends that power to his children. You can breathe underwater and swim as fast as a Hispo runs.

Duration: One hour, plus one for each Mental Trait you spend

Spirit Speech

Activation Time: Automatic

Effect: You understand spirit languages used around you, and you can communicate back in kind.  Because relatively few spirits can communicate in the werewolf High Tongue (let alone human speech), this gift is absolutely invaluable for Garou of the Theurge auspice.

Three Thousand Tongues

Activation Time: Personal

Challenge: Static Mental vs 11 Traits

Retest: Linguistics

Follow-up Cost: 2 or 4 Mental Traits

Effect: Usage of this gift allows the Ahadi to speak and understand every native African language still spoken today. For two-traits the gift will prevent an accent from interfering with communication, for four-traits the user speaks as fluent as a native born.

As Red Talon Gift: Gorge

Activation Time: Automatic

To Learn: You must learn this gift separately for each type of Trait you want to store (Rage, Gnosis or Willpower); you can only learn it once per type.

Retest: Intimidation

Effect: You break the bond between the spirit and the object, person, or place it is bound to, forcing it to leave. Fetishes lose their spiritual power, becoming ordinary objects. Fomori, once the possessing bane is ejected, die (unless a very powerful healer can somehow preserve the host's life through the process). Follow-up Cost: One Willpower (Optional)

Effect: The user of this gift makes a standard attack against their target, however if successful, all damage from the attack is dealt to a possessing ghost, instead of the victim (this is dealt directly to the Wraith’s Corpus). If the Wraith’s last Corpus is damaged in this fashion the user may spend a Willpower point to gain 1-3 Gnosis traits, depending on the strength of the spirit. A Wraith consumed in this fashion is destroyed forever, as such this may be grounds for loss of Renown among some Changing Breeds.

Retest: Animal Ken

Effect: Embodying the classic trope of the trickster as a shapeshifter, you can change into any animal form between the size of a bluebird and a bison. You can even take on the shapes of mythical creatures, although you can't become a wyrm-beast of any sort. You gain all the standard powers of the animal in question, such as flight, gills, poisonous fangs, etc.

Unity of All Beasts

Activation Time: Personal

Activation Cost: One Gnosis
