Joining the Game as a New Player

Nonactive characters:

This page is to have a firm and hard understanding between the players and the staff on what shelving a character entails or having a character in our books while not able to travel to game.

Not Local player-House character:

  • must play live once every six months in our game to stay active or have a conversation with the HST and we will set up a way for you to be accountable but also reasonable within your real life situation.
  • We may require you to submit "downtimes" to let us know what the character is doing in other games so if we are asked we can talk about what your character is known for
  • Submit and communicate with our bookkeeper if they are traveling to other games so they can get travel XP.

Rules for the  shelved characters:

  1. There should be at least 90 days of the character being "shelved" or used to appear at "5th Saturday/soft rp nights" unless the current character dies. Things happen so this can be adjusted if a discussion is had with the Staff.
  2. They have to be difficult or impossible to get a hold of. A personal plot is always the best reason to shelve a character or using that time to take a break fromt he character's mental state also acceptable.
  3. They can know nothing about current plots, nor be willing to help with them.
  4.  They can be contacted by PCs if the PC has a way to find them. Such conversations should be CC'ed to the storyteller account (tcgarousts @ gmail.com) to keep a written record of what happens.
  5. They cannot post to other games and be used as a travel character but MUST get confirmation from the game they visited that they went to gain XP.
  6. You can use developmental downtime to advise what your shelved character is doing.
