What has Influence done in the setting?

Because our players have influences and can effect the way the world works with them. Here are some laws that are different in the game world compared to the real world's Bemidji:

• Decriminalized Marijuana within city limits

• Granted Clemency for all persons arrested under Non-Violent Marijuana related charges within city limits

• Expunged records of people arrested under Non-Violent Marijuana related charges within city limits

• Decriminalize Heroin within city limits

• Free Public Transit during extreme Winter Weather within city limits

• Tax credit for anyone changing their front lawns to wildflower gardens within city limits

• Decriminalized Sex Work within city limits 

• Police to leave Homeless People alone (not destroying shelters or bothering panhandlers) within city limits

• Abusing foster children is a felony offense  within city limits

• Police no longer have Qualified Immunity within city limits 

• Set up banks in post offices within city limits

• Any and all rape kits will be tested within 24 hours within city limits

• Indigenous people can Hunt, Fish and Gather on any ceded land in the upper norther regions of the state

• Restored Indigenous people’s right to practice their religions on reservations up north.

• Public hearings for pedophiles and rapists within city limits.

•  Enact Encompassing Policy: After talking it over with a few different groups that represent disenfranchised communities, a quick change that they can make to people’s material conditions without setting up a whole laundry list of regulations is to reduce the maximum interest on any loan under $1,000, (targeting payday loans) to 25 percent within city limits.
